Jill has been a wonderful tutor to our nine-year old daughter. Writing was one of her least favorite activities and she was initially quite distressed to find out that she would be working with a tutor – but Jill immediately put her at ease and she now absolutely looks forward to their sessions. I’ve seen my daughter’s confidence as a writer grow considerably – she now tackles school assignments with more focus and far less anxiety. Jill has also been working with her to improve reading comprehension and there’s been a notable difference in the types of books that our daughter now enjoys. Jill has made a huge impact and has helped our daughter with these essential foundational skills – I’m so glad has she has been a steady, caring and encouraging resource, especially given the recent and on-going COVID challenges.

I also want to thank Staten Island Letters generally for being such a great resource/business!
I want to thank you so very much for introducing us to Amy and for including her in the Staten Island Letters network. When we contacted Staten Island Letters we were completely unsure of what our daughter needed in terms of speech therapy, or what we could achieve under the very stressful circumstance of having only about eight weeks prior to moving abroad during which to undertake any therapy at all. Amy helped us to strategize both pre-and post-evaluation and was practical, efficient, and communicative throughout the process of initiating and, later, undertaking, the speech therapy for our five-year-old. Having Amy come to our home twice a week was the perfect solution for us it definitely put my daughter at ease and certainly made our lives infinitely easier; Amy was always on time and ready to jump right in. Our daughter warmed to Amy immediately (not surprisingly, given Amy’s warm personality and engaging demeanor) and looked forward to her sessions every week, constantly asking Is it an Amy day Within one or two sessions our daughter was making sounds she had never made before, and she continues to make amazing progress. I can’t praise Amy’s work highly enough and only wish we were remaining in the City so our daughter could continue therapy with her!

"We recently had our parent-teacher conference and received Max's Spring reports and thought you would enjoy knowing that Max is reading above grade level (M almost N) and he continues to LOVE reading. He's made significant progress in his fluency, has great comprehension, and is making deep personal and worldly connections to texts. At home and at school Max is an avid reader who often needs multiple reminders to close the book! For his birthday in February, he requested...BOOKS! He's really grown a lot this year and we had a wonderful parent-teacher conference.
